Bob Ady to present Site Selector Web Page
The annual meeting for the investors of laportecounty.biz will be held at Pottawatomie Country Club on November 1 at 11:30. Lunch will be provided as John Regetz (MCEDC) and Tim Gropp (GLEDC) present highlights of the economic development efforts during 2007. This event will also mark the wrap up of the initial three year investment campaign. The new campaign will begin in January. The annual meeting will also review of the accomplishments of the past three years.
Robert (Bob) M. Ady (President, Ady International Company) will be our guest speaker at the event and will demonstrate a special “Site Selector” page on our website that he and our staff developed. The Site Selector Web Page on the new laportecounty.biz web site is designed to provide the specific business information for targeted industries including Advanced Manufacturing, Logistics, Regional Offices and High-Tech industries. The Site Selector page will streamline location consultants’ research of La Porte County and thereby make it more attractive to them.
Mr. Ady’s areas of expertise include corporate site selection and incentive negotiations for companies wishing to expand or relocate their business. He has identified optimal locations for more businesses in the United States than any other individual. Bob has been recognized as the consummate economic development professional, chosen by the most prominent international firms to undertake the most sensitive and important assignments. In 2003 Bob was awarded the Edward DeLuca Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is presented by the International Economic Development Council in recognition of the individual who consistently has exemplified the highest standards of professional excellence throughout his or her career in the economic development field.

LaPorteCounty.Biz Supports the Intermodal Efforts
Laportecounty.Biz exists to support growth and development throughout our county. It is the responsibility of the staff to evaluate, research, and engage in evaluating the potential benefits and requirements of all projects that come to our county. The proposed intermodal is no exception. The potential of such a project was being researched years before any of the current concepts came to light. With our county positioned close to Chicago, access to all major eastern railroads, and the potential to accumulate the land capable of handling such a facility we felt there was enough reason to look further into the logistics and transportation industry. Warehousing and transportation positions in La Porte County currently pay $39,005 annually—5% more than the state average in that sector and 24 % more than the average La Porte County wage of $31,389.
